History

C.I.P.E. (Training, Development and Testing Centre) was founded on October 4th, 1960 with the aim at achieving the aviation security and operational training needs.

C.I.P.E. is considered a national and international benchmark in aviation training as well as in the professional development of aviation operators and specialists by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC).

C.I.P.E. trains and enhances the aviation personnel´s skills and duties, mainly those related to ATS Safety Management.
Furthermore, it designs and assesses technical and operational procedures in order to support the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) with the management
of Air Traffic Services.

CIPE is aimed to be a national and international leading Training Centre. It is recognized for its academic excellence, equipment and service quality, fulfilling the highest International Standards within the Safety and Airworthiness Scopes.

International Recognition

It is of high importance to mention that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recognized CIPE as a:

  • 1975: Regional Training Centre in ATS, Communications, Electronics and Aerodrome Management.
  • 1994: Plenary Member to the TRAINAIR Programme.
  • 2002: Regional Safety Centre.
  • 2004: Subregional Training Centre in Aviation Security (AVSEC).
  • 2007: Regional Training Centre in Latin American Aviation Regulations (LAR) for the States Members of the Safety Vigilance Regional Programme.
